About Your Elizabeth Lassing Original Piece
Elizabeth Lassing crafts every piece to be
beautiful, strong, and comfortable for each unique jewelry lover. Each
piece is crafted with a variety of materials, including glass
crystals, fine seed beads, natural gemstones, sterling silver and 14k gold filled
wire and components, thermally bonded nylon
beading thread, nylon coated stainless steel beading wire, copper
and permanently colored copper wire, and more.
No matter the composition of your
custom piece of jewelry, you can provide the following care to ensure a
long and beautiful life:
-
Store your piece in a safe, closed jewelry
box away from sunlight and other pieces that could cause fading and
tangling, respectively.
-
Avoid directly exposing your piece to
airborne chemicals, such as hairspray and cleaning products.
-
Avoid excessive exposure to water, such as
showers and pools.
-
Avoid wearing your piece in events that may
lead to excessive stress on the piece and/or perspiration, such as
exercising.
Additional Tips (helpful for all types of jewelry!):
-
Carry a little bag or container with you to
safely put your jewelry in case you find yourself in a situation
where you need to take off your jewelry when away from home.
-
Keeping your jewelry in a small zip-lock bag
even within your jewelry box can help further protect your piece from dust, airborn chemicals,
and oxidation of metals.
-
If you've worn your custom piece on a hot
day, give the piece a gentle wipedown with a soft cloth to remove
prespiration; this can help prevent oxidation as well as brighten up
crystals.
-
If your silver piece begins to tarnish (displaying first a yellowish-brown tint, then dark grey/black),
you can use common toothpaste to bright up the metal: place a small dab of toothpaste on a Q-tip or
cotton swab and rub the metal until bright again. Gently rinse the jewelry piece, ensuring to remove
toothpaste from the inside of any beads or crevices. Pat try with a towel and allow to air dry for a
short period. Once the piece is dry, return to your jewelry box.
